EMPOWERMENT
Since time immemorial, the African woman has been the enduring symbol of beauty and strength around which the African society was founded. As the continent rapidly transitions from a traditional rural society to a modern one, the African woman still bears the multiple responsibilities of mother, teacher, nurturer, provider and wife.
These roles have followed her into the Diasporas where she has excelled despite the challenges of tough environments. However, a multitude of obstacles have hindered the emergence of the African woman as a global leader.
The issues justify open discussion for the purpose of devising workable solutions. The Empowerment portion of the Pan-African & Economic Symposium is the platform on which the African Convention will begin its advocacy to establish protection and empowerment of the African women.
The Symposium is an opportunity for African women of the diasporas in unity with her sisters of other cultures to stand in solidarity, discuss common issues of their denied equality and inspire millions of women around the globe to end universal suffering.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
This portion of the Symposium is designed to attract the broadest possible participation from the private sector, aspiring entrepreneurs, government agencies, the public service sector and personalities from around the world who want to make positive contributions for Africa and its peoples. African & non-African individuals, whose goals are to illuminate a better way for Africa, will discuss debate and ultimately find a meaningful way to tackle a range of issues from economic, technological to socio, cultural and political matters.
The idea is for business individuals with higher order thinking to be introduced to one another and hopefully, join energies to strategize on Africa’s position in the economic globalization. The continent is becoming a major player in today’s global village and hence, demands tireless dedication and innovation on the part of business people as well as government entities. The entire world is paying attention to Africa like never before-- as evidenced by the integration of national economies into the robust international economy visa vie trade, foreign direct investment, capital flows, migration and spread of technology.
